Our Family

long live the rose that grew from concrete

Our History

We are a community sourced, grass roots organization dedicated to giving the gift of a good memory to underserved communities in San Diego.

We planned our first event after two kids in Barrio Logan were lost to gang related violence at the end of 2020. We were raised in similar communities and understand that we are not provided the tools to cope healthily. We pose that gang interactions are a result of self destructive coping mechanisms to combat the loneliness and longing that so often befall us in the Neighborhood. In an attempt to offer the kids a constructive outlet for their traumas a handful of friends collected surfboards, wetsuits, face shields, and we offered free surf lessons in February 2021

Since then we've rallied and brought nearly 150 underprivileged youth out for free surf lessons and earned nearly 200 volunteers in two years. We achieved this without funding and proudly succeeded solely on the graciousness of our community
